Where we sat down
Yea we wept, when we remembered Zion
But the wicked carried us away to captivity
Required of us a song.
How can we sing a song, in a strange land."
Psalm 137

How often we forget that the psalms, among the most widely read texts in the world, are poetry: In that genre they have brought insight and comfort to billions over the centuries! So we humbly continue that tradition.
ReplyDeleteThe above passage stimulates a memory of a friend who use to play what he considered the sacred Bob Marley, they were always dirge like in rhythm and had a compelling and sobering force. They generally put you in a contemplative mood. Thanks for this memory Dawn.
